As we remember those who have lost their lives whilst serving their country this Armistice Day, Worcestershire County Council is proud to announce a new discount incentive for Armed Forces personnel and veterans.
Currently serving members of the Armed Forces, Veterans and Blue Light service personnel are now able to receive 10% discount on purchases at the Hive Café.
This discount is already available to staff and University of Worcester students, but the offer has now been extended to the veteran community and those health, social care and emergency service personnel who hold a Blue Light Card.
Those wishing to receive a discount will need to show the relevant ID such as; serving personnel ID cards, veteran ID cards, proof of service or the blue light card to receive the discount.
Councillor Ian Cresswell, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “I’m delighted that we have been able to secure these benefits for our veteran community as well as those who continue to support our health and social care service. It is important that we remember the sacrifices that our veterans and health professionals give, gave, and continue to do.
Through our covenant partnership in Worcestershire, we will continue to look at further options where we are able to provide a token of gratitude. Thank-you for your service.”
