Worcestershire’s flexible on-demand bus service is ready to get you where you need to go this festive season, whether you are Christmas shopping, visiting friends and family, or simply travelling from A to B.
The Worcestershire on Demand service is now up and running in five zones across the county, following the launch of two new zones (North Malvern and North Central) and the expansion of the Wychavon zone in November 2025.
If you’re planning a trip, why not give the service a try? It offers the convenience of public transport without fixed routes or timetables, giving you the freedom to travel when it suits you.
And throughout December, every journey costs just £1.
Councillor Karl Perks, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport at Worcestershire County Council, said: “Our on-demand service is designed to make travel easier, more flexible, and more accessible for everyone. As we head into the busy Christmas period, this service provides a convenient, affordable way for people to get around, whether you’re shopping, socialising, or travelling to work. We’re committed to improving transport options across Worcestershire, and the continued growth of Worcestershire on Demand is a real success story.”
A new Northwest zone, serving areas including Bewdley, Stourport, and extending as far as Tenbury Wells, will launch in January 2026.
Passengers can book journeys easily through the free Worcestershire on Demand app, available from the Apple App Store and Google Play. The app directs users to nearby ‘virtual bus stops’, provides real-time journey updates, and helps make shared travel more efficient.
The service runs Monday to Saturday, 7am to 7pm. After the December £1 promotion ends, fares will be £2.50 per person per journey (£1.25 for additional passengers). Concessionary cards are accepted, veterans travel free and frequent users can benefit from discounted ticket bundles.
Anyone needing help with the app can access a step-by-step tutorial video on the County Council website or get support from staff at local libraries.
