We’re proud to support Food Waste Action Week 2026, led by Love Food Hate Waste, which highlights one of the most overlooked climate issues: food waste.
In the UK, 60% of food waste happens at home, with households throwing away 4.4 million tonnes of edible food each year - worth £17.5 billion and producing 16 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. For a typical family of four, that’s around £1,000 wasted every year.
This week we’re encouraging everyone to try one simple change: bring a leftover lunch, spend five minutes planning meals before shopping, or compost food scraps like apple cores and tea bags. Small actions really do add up.
