Healthy eating is just one thing on the menu at Healthy Worcestershire sessions this March.
Healthy Worcestershire helps people stay active, meet others and feel part of their local community. Throughout March, sessions across the county will focus on different aspects of healthy eating and wellbeing.
In the week of March 2, the theme is Mindful Eating, helping people to eat more mindfully, recognise the difference between physical and emotional hunger, and nourish their bodies in the right way.
The week beginning March 9 will explore Blue Zones, what they are, where they can be found, and how people living in these areas enjoy longer, healthier lives.
From the week commencing March 23, sessions will look at Seasonal Affective Disorder, including symptoms, causes and practical strategies for managing darker, colder times of the year.
The final week of March, from March 30, will focus on Cooking Well on a Budget, featuring tips on preparing healthy seasonal meals for one person without breaking the bank.
Councillor Satinder Bell, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing at Worcestershire County Council, said: “March is a great month to focus on healthy eating and living a healthier lifestyle. With warmer days and lighter nights to look forward to, it is the perfect time for a fresh start and to build healthier habits.”
People can join the sessions to stay active, meet others and feel more connected to their local community. Each session includes gentle exercise, a friendly chat and a cuppa. They are free to attend and there is no need to book. People can just turn up on the day.
Healthy Worcestershire sessions take place every week in 30 venues across the county, as well as online.
