Healthy Worcestershire is putting mental wellbeing in focus this April.
Each week will focus on simple ways to look after our minds. The sessions aim to help people feel better, stay active and feel part of their local community.
Healthy Worcestershire sessions help people stay active, meet others and feel part of their local community.
The first theme runs for the week beginning 6 April and looks at Pranayama. This is a simple breathing practice that helps calm the mind and boost overall wellbeing.
The week beginning 13 April focuses on improving confidence. The session explores the role of confidence for our mental health, addressing common challenges like negative self-talk and perfectionism, and strategies to build confidence.
During the week beginning 20 April, sessions look at why it's important to have a support network and how to create one within your community.
From 27 April, the theme is mindfulness. The session shares tips on being present in the moment, connected within oneself, and being compassionate towards our thoughts and emotions.
Councillor Satinder Bell, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Health and Wellbeing at Worcestershire County Council, said: “Looking after our mental wellbeing is so important, and these sessions make it easy for people to take that first step. They are relaxed, welcoming and full of simple ideas that anyone can try. I hope more residents will come along and see the difference it can make.”
Healthy Worcestershire sessions are open to everyone. They offer gentle exercise, friendly conversation and a warm cuppa. All sessions are free. There is no need to book. You can simply drop in.
