Curious about how Worcestershire has changed over the centuries? The recently launched Local Studies Book Club at The Hive offers the perfect chance to find out!
Hosted by Worcestershire County Council’s Archive and Archaeology Service, Explore the Past, the friendly monthly group invites you to dip into fascinating reference books exploring Worcestershire’s people, landscapes, dialect, landmarks, waterways, transport, justice, and even medical and social care.
Simply choose a book that catches your interest, have a browse, and share your thoughts with the group. It’s an informal and welcoming space to discover something new, exchange ideas, and connect with others who enjoy exploring Worcestershire’s past.
It’s the perfect opportunity to socialise and exchange ideas about what you have learned in a friendly space. Many of the books draw directly on original historical records carefully preserved by the Archive team.
The next session takes place on 4 March 2026, from 10:00am to 11:0am, Level 2 at The Hive, Worcester.
Upcoming dates are 1 April and 29 April.
