The Victorian Christmas Fayre is returning to Worcester next weekend, and a Park and Ride service to the event will once again be available from County Hall.
Worcestershire County Council will be providing parking space in the County Hall car parks, along with staff to assist visitors, in support of the Park and Ride service (no. 910) operated commercially by First Worcester Bus.
The event, organised by Worcester City Council, has grown to become one of the leading themed Christmas Fayres in the country.
Around 200 stalls will take over the city centre, selling local arts, crafts, food and gifts. Visitors are encouraged to make the most of the festivities and use the Park and Ride service for convenient travel to and from the event.
Councillor Karl Perks, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, said: “The Victorian Christmas Fayre is a cherished occasion for Worcester and the wider county, drawing visitors from near and far. For many, it signals the beginning of their festive season. We’re delighted that First Bus will once again partner with ourselves and Worcester City Council to provide the park and ride service, offering people greater choice and flexibility in how they travel. The scheme is always well received and helps everyone enjoy the Fayre while keeping the city centre moving smoothly.”
Buses will operate for £1 each way during the fayre.
Services will run from the Boiler House at County Hall, every 10 mins between 9:30am and 7:00pm on Saturday, with buses continuing every 30 mins until 10:00pm. On Sunday, buses will run every 15 minutes between 10:00am and 5:00pm, then every 30 minutes until 6:40pm.
Return buses will leave Worcester Bus Station (Stand P) every 10 minutes on Saturday and every 15 minutes on the Sunday during peak times, returning to the Boiler House at County Hall.
