Festive travel across Worcestershire just got cheaper with the return of the £1 cap on all single fares, and this time it’s running every day of the week throughout December, no matter the distance travelled.
Worcestershire County Council, working with local bus operators, is reintroducing the special promotion and expanding it to include weekday travel throughout December. The scheme aims to help residents and visitors save money, support local services, and enjoy more sustainable travel during the festive season.
The offer applies to all local bus services in the county, including Worcestershire on Demand and the one-off park and ride service that is organised for the Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre.
Councillor Karl Perks, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for Highways and Transport, said: “Following the success of October’s £1 bus fare initiative, we’re delighted to be working with bus operators to offer the scheme again in December, this time expanding it to include weekday travel.
Capping all single journeys in the county at no more than a pound will not only make festive travel more affordable but also encourage sustainable travel options during a busy time of year. We look forward to welcoming even more passengers and helping residents and visitors enjoy the festive season with ease and convenience.”
Whether you’re dashing into town for some last-minute shopping, catching up with friends and family or travelling to work, let the bus take you there for less.
