Worcestershire County Council has announced a new look and a new name for the region’s biggest skills, training and employment event.
Skills Expo, previously known as Worcestershire Skills Show, will take place across two days in March 2026 at Worcester’s Sixways Stadium. The event will see thousands of county school students visit to meet local businesses, training and skills providers, and uncover post-education employment opportunities.
The Skills Expo is an annual careers event, showcasing the wide range of career paths available within Worcestershire, with exhibitors given the opportunity to inspire, inform and engage with students, and connect with other business leaders from across the region.
Worcestershire County Councillor Alan Amos, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Skills and Business said, “It Is every Worcestershire business’s responsibility to invest in its future and the future of our county. In order to do that, we must do everything we can to engage with our future workforce. Skills Expo is that opportunity! What we need is for businesses to step up, take part, and connect with their future. I’m really excited about Skills Expo 2026 and I can’t wait to meet those industry leaders who are committed to support Worcestershire’s economic growth.”
Skills Expo is produced by Careers Worcestershire, part of the county council’s Skills and Employability service, and works in partnership with Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC).
Judy Gibbs, Head of Skills and Employability at Worcestershire County Council said, “Skills Expo is one of our biggest and most exciting events. Working with CEC, we’re opening doors to fantastic career opportunities for Worcestershire’s students. It’s just as valuable for local employers too, giving them the chance to meet and inspire the next generation of Worcestershire’s workforce.
The energy on the day is incredible. Hands-on activities, real conversations, and that spark when young people see what’s possible. For 2026, I want it to be our biggest and best yet, and I’m calling on Worcestershire businesses to get involved and help shape their future with us.”
Skills Expo will run from Wednesday 4 to Thursday 5 March 2026, at Sixways Stadium, open to schools during the day with a special parents and carers evening session taking place on the Wednesday evening.
