Libraries are not only places to borrow books. They also provide vital community spaces for learning, connecting with others and supporting wellbeing. But what else could they offer?
To make sure libraries are still offering the right services and help shape the library strategy, residents across Worcestershire are being invited to share their views on local library services as Worcestershire County Council launches its Shaping Library Services for 2026–2028 survey.
Open to everyone who lives in the county, the survey gives residents the opportunity to say what they will need from library services between 2026 and 2028 and how those services should be delivered in the future. Whether you visit the library regularly, occasionally, or not at all, all feedback is welcome.
Responses will help inform how library services are developed over the next two years, ensuring they continue to support residents, families and communities in the ways that matter most.
“Our libraries play a vital role in supporting learning, wellbeing and community life,” said Cllr Ian Cresswell, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Environment and Communities at Worcestershire County Council. “This survey will help shape our library strategy for 2026 to 2028 by showing us what residents value and where changes are needed. I would encourage as many people as possible to take part and share their views.”
The survey is quick to complete and is available online via the Shaping Library Services 2026–2028 survey. Paper copies are also available at local libraries. Responses must be submitted by midnight on 2 February 2026.
