The Children’s Family Front Door is the central point for all safeguarding referrals and concerns to be reported for children aged 0 to 18 years living in Worcestershire.

Contact Family Front Door

The Family Front Door is the referral point where community members and professionals can report concerns about the safety or wellbeing of children and young people in Worcestershire.

If you are a parent or carer for a child who is under 18 years old with a disability, you can request a parent carer assessment by self referring you and your child to the Family Front door:

Staff are available Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 5:00pm and Fridays from 9:00am to 4:30pm.

In emergencies out of normal office hours (weekdays and all day at weekends and bank holidays) phone: 01905 768020.

Child protection and/or child at immediate risk of harm

If you believe that a child or young person is at immediate risk of harm, contact the Police by phone: 999 

Then please refer the child to children’s services on: 01905 822666 Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 5:00pm and Fridays from 9:00am to 4:30pm.

In safeguarding emergencies out of normal office hours (weekday evenings and 24 hours at weekends and bank holidays) phone: 01905 768020

Please note: 

  • you do not need consent to share information with children’s services if there is a safeguarding concern in line with Working Together 2023
  • if you refer a child protection matter to the children’s Family Front Door via phone, you must follow this up in writing in line with our Worcestershire safeguarding procedures within 3 working days

Targeted intervention and Children in Need referrals (level 3 and level 4 needs)

For children, young people and their families whom you have identified need multi-disciplinary targeted intervention and support or are Children in Need  as identified in the Worcestershire levels of need guidance: Levels of Need (Thresholds) - Worcestershire Safeguarding Boards

Please note:

  • you do need to seek the families or those with parental responsibility consent to refer to children’s services for level 3 or 4 needs as families need to consent to this offer of help and support
  • all referrals for level 3 or 4 needs must be made through our children’s secure services portal below:
