Understanding Dyslexia for professionals
This 4-week course will help learners to develop strategies to support themselves and others with dyslexia.
Who it is for
This session is for professionals and practitioners supporting children who have been diagnosed with dyslexia or are showing signs of having difficulties with reading and writing.
What to expect
From the workshop, you can expect:
- an introduction to dyslexia, how it affects learning, and common challenges children may face
- practical strategies to help children develop their reading, writing, and spelling skills
- information on how to access support and reasonable adjustments
- the opportunity to ask questions and hear from others who have had similar experiences
Session details
This is a series of four two-hour interactive workshops with discussion, practical examples, and the opportunity to explore useful resources.
Takeaway
By the end of the session, participants will have a clearer understanding of dyslexia and practical strategies to help children develop confidence in literacy.

Most of our workshops are subsidised by the Department for Education (DfE). They require us to collect information from learners to monitor how we use the funding they give us.
