Supporting your child to cope with change (Transitions)

This free, interactive workshop provides parents and carers with strategies and resources to support their child through changes.

Changes and transitions within a child’s life can create uncertainty. They can be small things like finishing playing a game to get ready for dinner to big things like starting a new school. This free, interactive workshop will provide parents and carers with strategies and resources to support their child through changes.

Who it is for

This session is for parents and carers of children and young people who have or may have SEND who struggle with change or are approaching a significant transition.

What to expect

From this workshop you can expect:

  • practical guidance and tips on how to support your child through change
  • interactive activities to help create a personalised action plan
  • the opportunity to ask questions and discuss real-life scenarios

Session details

This session can be delivered either as a one off or a series of interactive workshops with practical discussions and real-life examples.

Takeaway

By the end of the session, parents and carers will have a clear, action plan to help their young person navigate change.

SENDIASS workshops are delivered in partnership with Learning Services Worcestershire.

Most of our workshops are subsidised by the Department for Education (DfE). They require us to collect information from learners to monitor how we use the funding they give us. After booking, you will need to provide extra enrolment data. We only collect necessary information and use it in line with the Worcestershire Learning Services privacy notice.
