Parental Engagement Audit

Information

A Parental Engagement Audit is a tool used to review and assess the effectiveness of a setting’s communication and partnership with parents and carers. It helps identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities to enhance parent involvement in children’s learning and well-being.

When to Use:

  • settings should consider conducting a Parental Engagement Audit
  • annually or at regular intervals as part of quality assurance or self-evaluation
  • after significant changes in staffing, policies, or service delivery that may impact parent communication
  • when introducing new programs or initiatives that involve parent participation
  • if feedback from parents indicates areas for improvement in communication, involvement, or support
  • as part of inspection preparation or regulatory compliance checks

The audit can inform action plans to strengthen family engagement, improve outcomes for children, and ensure a collaborative partnership between parents and the setting.
