Vision, co-production commitment and outcomes

Setting out the vision, co-production commitment and outcomes for children and young people with SEND in Worcestershire.

Our vision, co-production commitment, and outcomes were developed through extensive collaboration with children, young people, families, and practitioners across Worcestershire. From workshops and engagement activities to co-production events and consultations, every step was guided by the voices of those who matter most. These shared principles will now be rolled out across the Local Area Partnership, becoming central to children’s plans and shaping the design of services. They represent our collective ambition for a better future, and while progress has been made, we know there is more to do.

We will evaluate how well we are listening to the voices of children, young people and their families, measure our progress against the outcomes, and report back openly on what’s working and where we still need to improve.

Worcestershire's vision

“Our vision is that every child and young person in Worcestershire is respected, included, and heard, and has the support, choices, and opportunities they need to reach their goals and live a fulfilled life.”

Worcestershire’s co-production commitment

Our co-production commitment describes how we will work together with children, families and partners to make the vision real.

We have created a set of ‘we will’ statements that have been co-produced by parent carers, children and young people and representatives from health, education and the local authority.

We follow the four cornerstones approach to ensure our co-production is meaningful, inclusive and embedded within the culture of Worcestershire.

We will statements

We will:

  • communicate effectively
  • work together
  • be person centred
  • respect, recognise and listen
  • embed co-production in our culture

Outcomes for children and young people with SEND

The outcome statements show the tangible difference this approach makes to the lives of children and young people. We will measure our progress against these statements:

I feel welcomed, included and part of a community where I belong

Outcome statements:

  • I can be my authentic self, and I am seen as me
  • I can have fun with my family and friends

Next steps

These outcomes will form the unifying thread that connects and guides all Delivery Plan leads, ensuring a coherent and consistent focus on what matters most to children and young people.

This marks the beginning of a wider programme of work to develop the measures and indicators that will sit beneath each outcome, alongside their incorporation within the next SEND and AP strategy.

Future progress across the Local Area Partnership will be measured against these outcomes, ensuring that the voice and lived experience of children and young people meaningfully guide our priorities, our improvement activity, and the way we evaluate impact.
